Worldcare Technologies is a medical device company dedicated to developing a low-cost, high-performance device to quantify the amount of HIV virus in the body.

Our team was inspired by the stories of those living with HIV in Tijuana, Mexico, a city that has an HIV prevalence that is triple that of the national average. From our experiences there, we learned that HIV patients are supposed to receive two viral load tests a year, which helps doctors determine if their treatment is working and help prevent accidental infections and negative health outcomes.  Unfortunately, viral load tests are not readily accessible around the world due to their high cost, and in some nations, 90% of individuals have never received a single viral load test, let alone two a year. Currently, viral load testing costs more than $10,000 per testing unit and $25 per test.

So we set out to engineer a solution that reduces costs, improves patient outcomes, and empowers patients to take their healthcare into their own hands. Three years later, we are entering the final development stage of our low-cost, high performance monitoring system that comes in at about $1,000 per unit and $10 per test. Our technology is inspired by scientifically validated technologies. and we have engineered our device to allow for point-of-care implementation, greatly diminishing costs and increasing access to patients in impoverished areas.

As we continue our preclinical testing we have begun coordinating implementation of our device in Tijuana, Mexico, and hope to implement our technology in the coming year.

Our vision is to provide accessible healthcare for patients and help alleviate the current AIDS epidemic currently affecting over 37 million people around the world.
